Gold and gray stars. What do they mean?

​

In the chatroom, someone might have a gold star pasted on the top right of their profile picture. This means they are currently active on the app and more likely to respond in a timely manner. The gray star indicates they are elsewhere.

Can I really chat with people anywhere in the world?

​

Yes! The circumference of Earth is 24,901 miles and that's how far away you can match with someone. However, in standing at one point, it would only make sense to use a fraction of that distance to reach the farthest opposite point of the world. If you went the whole 24,901 miles, you would end up right back where you started. However, the creator of StarLit is also just a girl and not an expert in math. This means that not only can you connect with anyone in the world, but probably also with astronauts on the first leg of their journey into space!

Refine your matches with filters!

​

You can choose a partner at any stage in their life. This can be determined by using filters to choose which age, gender, distance, income, height, and physicality they are. Income is not something that will be shown in someone's bio as we believe it is personal information, but if you choose someone who makes above a certain dollar, you will only be matched with people who selected they make that income. Additionally, if this is not important to you, there is a "skip" option.

Features Requiring Consent:

In order to use the "Request a Date" button, both users will need to pass ten messages back and forth. Each! At this point, the video chat option will also unlock. The Relationship Roulette gaming feature is always open, but when you invite someone to play, they must first accept your invitation.

Does StarLit schedule your dates for you?

​

Yes! When someone asks you on a date, you have the option to accept or deny the invitation. If you accept, your StarLit calendar will link to your phone while you punch out the details with your partner. This helps to ensure the date is listed on BOTH calendars for the correct time and place, helping to cut down on forgotten or miscommunicated dates!
