What is StarLit Dating App?

​

StarLit Dating App is the first Service in the world to implement a Free Date Frenzy that can pay for your first date, offer (Relationship Roulette) games, and allow users to showcase two moving carousels of their favorite books, movies, and TV shows.

​

StarLit Dating is a comprehensive social application used to find great-quality connections with romantic partners and friends. Particularly, StarLit caters to those who easily bond over a heavy interest in stories told by the entertainment industry via books, television, movies, comedy, and games.

How is StarLit Dating Different?

​

How many dating apps pay matches to go on a first date? None, currently, but StarLit Dating does. For the first 100 matches on launch day (and throughout the year on special occasions to be decided by the admin), StarLit Dating will allow a certain number of matches access to an e-gift card to make for a fun, easy, and worry-free date experience. You can also play automated trivia games in the chat room with your matches and show a carousel of your favorite books, movies, and TV shows in your bio. It’s easy to find people with shared genre interests—not to mention it’s a great conversation starter.

StarLit Dating App has tons of cool never-before seen features!

Here’s how it works:

​

• You can add your favorite book quote to the top of your bio.

• You can alter who you want to see based on their age, height, physicality, and income.

• You can alter the distance to match with or communicate with ANYONE in the world.

• After each person in a chat sends a minimum of ten messages (indicating shared interest), you will unlock two features. The first is the VIDEO CHAT REQUEST. In order to prevent thirsty matches from spamming you with video calls, each chat will be agreed upon by both parties prior to beginning. The second feature is the REQUEST A DATE button. This will open a calendar for you to schedule your date at an agreed upon time. This helps to prevent forgotten, confused, and missed dates.

• Using the navigation bar, you can not only see everyone who liked your profile, but you can see all of your past matches and liked profiles.

• You can see and edit your record of blocked users.

• You can unmatch.

• You can change your settings to find friends or hookups in the area.

• You can choose to play automated trivia or truth or dare in the chat room.

• You can choose Gifs to show your humor.

• You can view your complete match history.

• You can use the dark mode (a starry night sky) or the light mode (a fairy-like green and pink), depending on your mood.

1. TERMS OF SERVICE SECTION

​

Thank you muchly for taking an interest in StarLit Dating. This is a contract where you will find the information you need to know about your rights. Please take a look through the terms and conditions. Once you’ve joined the app, you are legally bound by them.

​

StarLit Dating LLC will be referred to as “us,” "our," “we,” the “Service,” the “Company” or alternatively “StarLit”. Together you and StarLit may be referred to as the “parties” or separately as “you,” "your," “user(s),” “member(s), or “party.”

​

Notice of fraud/identity theft: Fraud is a person or thing intended to deceive others, typically by unjustifiably claiming or being credited with certain accomplishments or qualities. Identity theft is the fraudulent acquisition and use of a person's private identifying information. Please understand that lying on your StarLit profile page by stealing another person’s photos, name, and/or identity is a punishable offense. Though deceiving other users by lying about your age, income, and height may not be considered illegal, we urge you to please save yourself the embarrassment of being caught in a lie. Be honest from the get-go.

 

Note: You are permitted to use a nickname as opposed to your legal or birth given name if it makes you more comfortable.

2. ACCEPTING THE TOA

​

When you create an account with StarLit or take part in the use of any StarLit service(s), you agree to be automatically bound by StarLit’s Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy. If you decide not to agree to be bound by all of the terms of this Agreement, then you should not access or use the Service.

​

There are some changes that will be made to this Agreement and to the Service from time to time, so we suggest you regularly check for the most recent version. The most recent version will be the ONLY version that applies. If you continue using the Service after the changes become effective, then you agree to the revised Agreement. You agree that this Agreement supersedes any and all prior agreements, and will govern your entire relationship with StarLit, including but not limited to events, agreements, and conduct preceding your acceptance of this Agreement.

3. ARE YOU AN ELIGIBLE PERSON?

​

According to our requirements, you must be at least 18 years of age to download and create an account with StarLit. By creating an account and using the Service, you understand and agree that:

​

• You are who you say you are.

• You are the person in your chosen photos.

• The information you share in your profile is entirely true and correct.

• You are legally/mentally able and willing to form a binding contract with StarLit.

• You are not scoping out our one-of-a-kind features to copy their uses and functions for any reason.

• You are not barred from using the Service under the laws of the United States of America or any other applicable jurisdiction.

• You will use the Service in the manner in which it was created to be used.

• You will comply with this Agreement and all applicable local, state, national and international laws, rules and regulations, including without limitation, privacy laws, intellectual property laws, anti-spam laws, and regulatory requirements.

• You have good intentions.

• You have not committed, been convicted of, or pled no contest to a sex crime, or any crime involving violence or a threat of violence, unless you have received clemency for a non-violent crime and we have determined that you are not likely to pose a threat to other users of our Service, and that you are not required to register as a sex offender with any state, federal or local sex offender registry,

• You will use the latest version of the Service and abide by the most recent Agreement.

• You do not have more than one account on the Service.

• You have not previously been removed from the Service.

If you do not meet these requirements, all authorization to access our Service will be revoked. As important as it is to be yourself while in search of a partner, it is equally as important to restrict certain content for the good of users and the company. StarLit (with a zero-tolerance policy) will impose certain restrictions on content which:

​

• contains offensive language and imagery with the high likelihood of angering, upsetting, embarrassing, alarming, or annoying other users. This also applies to language and imagery that violates human rights, insults/threatens certain races, ethnicities, sexes, and physical appearance.

• is obscene in nature, meaning pornographic, violent, or offensive to human dignity.

• glorifies posing with dead, suffering, captured, or barely alive bodies/carcasses (animal or otherwise).

• is insulting, dangerous, abusive, stalkerish, or discriminatory.

• is harmful to minors.

• infringes upon the rights of others in any way.

• contains any spyware, adware, invasive software, viruses, corrupt files, worm programmes or other malicious code designed to interrupt, damage or limit the functionality of or disrupt any software, hardware, telecommunications, networks, servers or other equipment.

• could be considered defamatory or libelous.

• involves the spread of junk mail or unwanted spam messaging.

• is proved to be dishonest or deceitful.

• promotes or recruits users to participate in money-laundering, drugs, or pyramid schemes.

• purposely misrepresents oneself in order to trick, fool, harm, swindle, scam, stalk, or catfish others.

4. PERSONAL ACCOUNTS

​

You are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials used to sign up for StarLit. You are solely responsible for all activities that occur under those credentials. If you think someone has gained access to your account, please immediately change your password and contact customer support.

​

5. ACCOUNT DELETION

​

Pause or delete your account at any time.

​

You have the right to terminate your account for any reason. By following the instructions in “Settings," StarLit will ask you to choose a reason following account termination, so you must select one of the following: “I found love,” “I’m taking a break,” “I have no money,” “I have no prospects,” “I’m already a burden to my family,” or “I’m frightened.”

​

StarLit may terminate your account at any time without notice if it believes that you have violated this Agreement. Upon such termination, you will not be entitled to any refund for purchases.

​

6. SAFETY

​

By using the Service, you automatically agree to treat other users in a courteous and respectful manner, both on and off our Services. You must be respectful when communicating with any StarLit members or employees. StarLit strives to encourage a respectful member experience through features like “request a date” or “request a video chat,” which allows members to communicate only after they have both indicated continued interest in one another.

​

That being said, StarLit strongly encourages that members take the time to query their dates or friends (met through the app) either via the in-app facetime or through a verified social media account that has been consistently active for more than one year. This is a good way to make sure you’re meeting the same person that is presented to you through the app.

​

StarLit will not be held responsible for the conduct of any member on or off of the Service. You agree to use caution and good judgement in all interactions with other members, particularly if you decide to communicate or meet off the Service. You agree that you will NEVER provide your financial information. You agree not to send or solicit money to other members. StarLit is not responsible for your financial agreements or trades and has no authority to force payments/reimbursements that were agreed upon between users.

Only you can be held liable for your interactions with other members who use StarLit Dating App Services. You understand that the app does not conduct background checks for its users. We do not claim to make representations or warranties as to the conduct or compatibility of the members who use our Service.

​

7. RIGHTS

​

Note: StarLit gift cards are a privilege, not a right. By simply joining the app, you are NOT entitled to gift card compensation if you do not meet the requirements set forth by the latest round of “paid first dates.” Limited gift cards are provided throughout the year for the first 100 matches who agree to go on a date. You may or may not be one of these winners at any given time. Just because you won before, does not mean you will win again. Just because you haven’t won before, does not mean you won’t win in the future.

This agreement and your access to StarLit may be automatically revoked in the event that you partake in any of the following:

​

• Attempt to cheat, swindle, manipulate, or defraud other members.

• Use the Service or any content contained in the Service for any commercial purposes without prior written consent.

• Manipulate the e-gift card honor system by attempting to snag multiple at once, or by using the e-gift card while not on a date with the person that was matched with in order to receive the card. (The gift-card should not be stolen or used outside of StarLit dates.)

• Copy, modify, transmit, create any derivative works from, make use of, or reproduce in any way any copyrighted material, images, trademarks, trade names, service marks, or other intellectual property, content or proprietary information accessible through the Service without StarLit’s prior written consent.

• Express or imply that any statements you make are endorsed by StarLit.

• Use any AI, bot, spider, crawler, scraper, site search/retrieval application, proxy or other manual or automatic device, method or process to access, retrieve, index, data mine, or in any way reproduce or circumvent the navigational structure or presentation of the Service or any of its contents.

• Use StarLit in any way that could interfere with, disrupt or negatively affect the Service or the servers or networks connected to the Service.

• Upload viruses or other malicious code or otherwise compromise the security of the Service.

• Forge headers or otherwise manipulate identifiers in order to disguise the origin of any information transmitted to or through the Service.

• Frame or mirror any part of the Service without StarLit’s prior written authorization.

• Direct any person to any other website for any purpose.

• Modify, adapt, sublicense, translate, sell, reverse engineer, decipher, decompile or otherwise disassemble any portion of the Service, or cause others to do so.

• Use or develop any third-party applications that interact with the Service or other members’ Content or information without prior written consent.

• Use, access, copy, or publish the StarLit application programming interface without our written consent.

• Probe, scan or test the vulnerability of our Service or any system or network.

• Bribe others, encourage, promote, or agree to engage in any activity that violates this Agreement.

StarLit may investigate and take any available legal action in response to unauthorized uses of the Service.

​

StarLit has an exclusive license to screenshots of the Service that may include your Content. In addition, so that StarLit can prevent the use of your Content outside of the Service, you authorize StarLit to act on your behalf with respect to infringing uses of your Content taken from the Service by other members or third parties. You agree that any Content you place or that you authorize us to place on the Service may be viewed by other members and may be viewed by any person visiting or participating in the Service.

​

You understand and agree that we, our affiliates, and our third-party partners have the right to place advertising on the Service. By submitting suggestions or feedback to StarLit regarding our Service, you agree that StarLit may use and share such feedback for any purpose without compensating you.

​

8. COMMUNITY

​

When you use the Service, you agree that you will not:

​

• Attempt to defraud StarLit through your subscription.

• Post content that is defamatory of libelous.

• Use the Service for illegal purposes.

• Use the Service for any harmful or disreputable purpose.

• Use the Service in order to steal from or damage StarLit.

• Violate our Community Guidelines as most recently updated.

• Spam or loan money to other members.

• Defraud other members.

• Impersonate by posting images of another person without his or her prior written consent.

• Assault, bully, stalk, intimidate, harass, mistreat, or otherwise mistreat any person through StarLit.

• Post Content that violates or infringes anyone’s rights.

• Post Content that is or promotes hate speech, threats, is sexually explicit or pornographic; incites violence; or contains nudity or violence.

• Post Content that promotes genocide, racism, bigotry, hatred or physical harm of any kind against groups or individuals.

• Solicit passwords or login credentials for any purpose, or personal identifying information for commercial or unlawful purposes from other users.

• Use another member’s account or share an account.

• Misrepresent your identity, age, height, income, current or previous positions, qualifications, or affiliations with a person or entity.

• Create another account after being terminated.

Your account may be terminated without a refund of any purchases if you have violated this Agreement, misused the Service or behaved in a way that StarLit regards as inappropriate or unlawful, including actions or communications that occur on or off the Service. Although StarLit reserves the right to review and remove Content that violates this Agreement, such Content is the sole responsibility of the member who posts it, and StarLit cannot guarantee that all Content will comply with this Agreement. If you come across Content on the Service that violates this Agreement, please report it within the Service and block the user at your discretion.

9. REFUNDS

​

Most charges are nonrefundable. There are no refunds or credits for partially used periods beyond the four-day free trial period. Additionally, when a year-long subscription is purchased, Members will be billed for the full amount at once. If you decide to cancel at any time before the year is over, there will be no refunds.

​

An exception may be made to refund a subscription if the laws applicable in your jurisdiction provide for refunds. To request a refund, please contact customer support.

​

10. LIABILTY DISCLAIMERS

​

StarLit is not liable for any damages, injuries, suffering, or losses incurred by use of the Service, either directly or indirectly.

​

StarLit assumes no responsibility for the actions or content of its members. You are responsible for using the Service at your own risk. When doing so, you also waive any and all claims that may arise. If you live in a state where these provisions do not apply or if any portion of Limitation of Liability is found to be invalid or unenforceable, then our aggregate liability shall not exceed one hundred USD.

​

You waive the right to a trail. If you are found to have violated the Terms of Agreement or Privacy Policy (one or both binding contracts) in any manner, you also waive the right to take part in a lawsuit against StarLit.

​

If you are dissatisfied with our Service for any reason, please contact StarLit Customer Service first so we can try to resolve your concerns without the need of outside assistance. If you choose to pursue a dispute, claim or controversy against StarLit, you must have attempted to legitimately reach out to StarLit through a proper method/channel to resolve the dispute at least once prior to proceeding with legal action.

11. DISPUTES AND TRIALS

​

In the event of a legal dispute, you and StarLit agree to negotiate in good faith in an effort to resolve the Dispute. As part of these good faith negotiations, if StarLit requests a conference with you to discuss your Dispute, you agree to personally participate, with your attorney if you’re represented by counsel. Likewise, if you request a conference to discuss StarLit’s Dispute with you, StarLit agrees to have one representative participate. This informal process should lead to a resolution. However, if the Dispute is not resolved within 90 days after receipt of a fully completed Notice and the Parties have not otherwise mutually agreed to an extension of this informal dispute resolution time period, you or StarLit may initiate an arbitration.

​

In the event of a class action lawsuit, both parties waive the right to a jury trial, as well as the right to litigate disputes in court in favor of individual arbitration. Both parties waive the right to file or participate in a class action against the other.

​

By Using the Service, you agree to defend and hold StarLit harmless, including anyone affiliated with or employed by StarLit, against all complaints, claims, accusations, liabilities, demands, and expenses.

​

Any claims that are not arbitrated must be litigated in Fairfax County, Virginia.

​

12. SUPPOSITION

​

These terms of Agreement contain the basis of the relationship between you and StarLit. If the enforceability of any provision of this Agreement is found to be inacceptable, the remainder of this Agreement shall continue to be upheld. The failure of StarLit to exercise or enforce any right or provision of this Agreement does not constitute a waiver of such rights or provisions.

​

By using the Service, you agree that the rights to your account and its Content will terminate upon the occasion of your death. No agency, partnership, joint venture, fiduciary or other special relationship or employment may be created as a result of this Agreement, and you do not have the right to make any representations on behalf of or attempt to bind StarLit in any way.

​

StarLit is a place for intelligent, kind, courteous, and creative people to interact and get to know one another. Please do your part to make StarLit a wonderful experience for all members by obeying these Terms of Agreement.
